Atmotube - Personal Pollution Monitor

Every day, we unconsciously take more than 20,000 breaths.

Unless we have a problem, we don't think about WHAT we're breathing in, and how what's in the air might affect our bodies.

Atmotube was created to raise awareness about both indoor and outdoor air quality, so you can make the right choices every day and live healthier. It is especially helpful to asthmatics and lung disease sufferers, but is also useful for parents of young children and the elderly.

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids. In fact, they may be emitted by a wide array of common products, including paints and lacquers, paint strippers, cleaning supplies, varnishes and wax, cleaning and disinfecting products, building materials (plywood and particleboard), furnishings, office equipment, glues and adhesives.

VOCs can cause eye, nose, and throat irritation as well as headaches, loss of coordination, and nausea. They may also cause damage to the liver, kidney, and central nervous system. Some are suspected or known to cause cancer and asthma.
